St-Lucia - Interesting facts about how huge canons were transported from boats on top of Pigeon Island in the mid 17th century while the French and English were fighting to overtake the St-Lucia Island. It changed hands more than fourteen times. The English won at the end and the island became an associated state of the Commonwealth in 1967 & independent on 22 February 1979. We very much enjoyed this island.
